Conference on Asian Studies in Phuket
Events
A conference about Catching up Southeast Asian New Body : States, Markets and Public Spheres, organized by the Center for Southeast Asian Studies (Kyoto University), the Institute of Asian Studies (Chulalongkorn University), the Nottingham University (Malaysian Campus) and IRASEC, was held on the 25-29th of September 2013 at the Cape Panwa Hotel in Phuket.
IRASEC organized a panel titled “Regional integration in Southeast Asia and socio-cultural bodies.” Natalie Fau (IRASEC researcher in Kuala Lumpur) talked about “Maritime Connectivity in the Straits of Malacca”, Bernard Formoso (IRASEC researcher in Bangkok) talked about “Exploring Civil Societies in Southeast Asia”, and François Robinne (IRASEC Director) talked about “Transethnic identities or ethnicities at the crossroad”.
