Nathalie Fau is a lecturer at the University of Paris 7 and a researcher at the SEDET laboratory (https://www.sedet.univ-paris-diderot.fr/ ) in the CNRS delegation. After having worked on Indonesia, and more particularly on the northern region of Sumatra within the framework of her thesis, she crossed the Strait of Malacca and focused her new research on Malaysia. All of her work focuses on two main research themes. The first, "New centralities in South East Asia", studies the spaces, essentially urban, constructed by globalisation. The second, "Transborder and Transnational Spaces in Southeast Asia" is devoted more specifically to the role of seas and straits in the regional integration of insular Southeast Asia.
