Member of the team of ANR FORSEA
Aniello Iannone is a lecturer in Indonesian and Southeast Asian Politics at the Department of Politics and Government Studies, Universitas Diponegoro, Indonesia. His research lies at the intersection of International Relations, comparative political economy, and Southeast Asian studies, with a strong focus on migration and labour regimes in Indonesia and ASEAN. His work critically examines the institutional and legal architectures governing migrant labour, transnational recruitment systems, and the production of precarity within regional capitalism. More broadly, he analyses how ASEAN states manage labour mobility, reproduce power asymmetries between sending and receiving countries, and shape the social and political consequences of migration in Indonesia and Southeast Asia.
