🇫🇷 Conference in French

This roundtable, organized by IRASEC, the SOSORO Museum, and the Royal University of Law and Economic Sciences, aims to explore the complexity and nuances of the Francophone presence in Indochina and the Pacific region. By combining the latest developments in historiographical research, an analysis of language and education policies, and a personal account, she invites us to examine the boundaries—which are often more porous than they appear—between colonial legacies and postcolonial dynamics, between geographic spaces, and between individual and collective experiences within the Francophonie.

Speakers :

  • Pierre Journoud, “The Asia-Pacific Region Facing the Challenge of Colonial and Postcolonial Memories”
  • Magali Bigaud, “The French Language and the Cambodian Educational System : Between Colonization and Decolonization”,
  • Lim Bunhok, “A Cambodian Life Story at the Heart of the Francophone World”.

The conference will be chaired by Jérémy Jammes, director of IRASEC.
