What is the relationship between landscape, time and imagination ? How can landscapes bear within them long-time meanings as well as be a great tool to talk about social change ? Landscapes and their associated stories are not fixed once and for all – on the contrary, they are often the subject of contradictory discussions according to the personal history, memory or social status of the storytellers.
This conference will show that the dynamic relationship between landscapes and cautionary tales helps Cambodians to heal from their recent and brutal past under the Khmer rouge regime.
