Eka Ningtyas

Postdoctoral Fieldwork Research Grant in Singapore Awardee

 

Eka Ningtyas is a historian of modern Indonesia, specializing in political and intellectual history. She holds a PhD in History from INALCO (Paris, 2025), where she examined the articulation of Javanism in Indonesian political, religious, and literary discourse.

As the awardee of the IRASEC-IFS Postdoctoral Fieldwork Fellowship 2025-2026 in Singapore, she is developing a comparative project on the genealogy of decolonial knowledge between Singapore and Indonesia, advancing the concept of “archipelagic decoloniality” as a regional perspective. She is also a lecturer in the Department of History at Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta, where she works in the field of Digital Humanities, focusing on the preservation and digitization of local archives in Indonesia.
