Mr. Andar NUBOWO is a doctoral student in philosophy and epistemology at the École Normale Supérieure de Lyon. Under the supervision of Mr. Makram Abbes and Mr. Rémy Madinier, his thesis is on "The genesis of a current of Islam of the just middle : a sociohistory of the currents of Indonesian progressive Islam". Associate Research Fellow at the S Rajaratnam School of International Studies (RSIS), Nanyang Technological University, Singapore in 2017-2019, he is currently associated with the Institute for Research on Contemporary Southeast Asia (IRASEC). His research area is the socio-history of progressive Muslim intellectuals, politics and Indonesian democracy.
