Abstract
This thesis focuses on the resistance practices of Filipino migrant women in Germany to gain insight – within the German context - into the process of negotiating domination by migrant, racialized women from dependent countries, often working in precarious jobs, who migrate to developed countries to ensure the social reproduction of these societies. This work also aims to provide more knowledge about the migration of Filipino women to Germany, a framework that is little known in international migration research. As for the method employed, this research work is based on the ethnosociological approach, whose main characteristic is to combine ethnographic observation and life stories. Thus, its results are based on a long observation work as well as 21 life stories collected among Filipino migrant women. The survey reveals the ability of Filipino women to negotiate the terms of domination in multiple and varied ways, which they do by confronting the consequences of their position within social relations shaped by the singularities of the German context.
