Lancement de L’Asie du Sud-Est 2026 à Bangkok

L’IRASEC, en partenariat avec la FTCC et la librairie Carnets d’Asie, organise le lancement de l’ouvrage L’Asie du Sud-Est 2026 autour d’une table ronde réunissant les éditeurs de l’ouvrage (Jérémy Jammes et Gabriel Facal, directeur et directeur adjoint de l’IRASEC), ainsi que Cyrille Moyon (auteur du chapitre sur la sécurité alimentaire) et Jean Sol-Macher (Chef du service économique de Bangkok à l’Ambassade de France en Thaïlande).

Book launch

Launch of the book “L’Asie du Sud-Est 2026” in Kuala Lumpur

As part of the 26th edition of the Reflection Seminar, which will take place from Thursday, March 12 to Friday, March 13, 2026, in Kuala Lumpur, Jérémy Jammes will present the annual publication “L’Asie du Sud-Est 2026 - Bilan, Enjeux et perspectives”, and Elisabeth Peyroux will give a presentation on artificial intelligence entitled “Entre innovation et contrôle : les enjeux de l’IA urbaine à Singapour” [Between Innovation and Control : The Challenges of Urban AI in Singapore].
As in previous years, the meeting will be held behind closed doors and will be conducted mainly in French. The seminar will therefore not be open to the public.

Across the social sciences, scholars are increasingly engaging with creative and multimodal forms of knowledge production. At this workshop, participants will discuss their work with comics, video-making, film programming, artists’ residencies, literary ethnography, podcasts, and other inventive approaches to research and writing.

Founded in Bangkok twenty-five years ago, the Research Institute on Contemporary Southeast Asia has established itself as a major centre of scholarship. Since its creation, IRASEC has produced a substantial body of work comprising more than 150 publications, 38 per cent of which are in English, including 21 policy briefs, 44 research notebooks and 87 monographs.
